Sporthotel am Semmering

The hotel is fine and for the price we paid provided what we expected. The rooms are small but clean. The staff is lovely and trying hard but the place was clearly understaffed over a very busy period. The elevator was broken on and off for a good part of our stay and there was no help offered on getting heavy luggage up the stairs. The food is really ambitious but falls a tad short in execution. A simpler menu may have been a better option. Breakfast buffet was generous and varied and a highlight of the stay. The claim to have a shuttle to the ski area but you have to order it 24 hours in advance so we ended up walking back and forth from the ski lifts. On the plus side the views are spectacular and gorgeous! If you’re looking for something reasonably cheap and simple and don’t expect fancy this is probably a good option.

Nice hotel with great view and excellent food. Ski lift is 5 mins walk or 1 min by car. You can ski to the lift is there is much snow. Rooms are a good size and clean, with small shower. No fridge and kettle. The spa is nice with big pool, sauna and steam which doesn't operate every day. Friendly and helpful staff. Someone should be at the reception all the time. The kitchen is wonderful. Thanks to the chef for the experience, and to Zoli the waiter for the service.

The hotel is in a really nice location, but unfortunately that's pretty much the only good thing about it. The rooms are not cleaned, and food disappears from the fridge and from our bags, there is no ventilation in the bathroom. The food is not the best. The dishes are dirty, you have to dig to find clean ones. The reception staff is extremely rude, especially to foreigners!!

We have had many groups staying in this hotel over the years, and everyone is always very pleased with the services, provided by it. First and foremost, the food at “Sporthotel am Semmering” is delicious and of the highest quality. The restaurant staff is attentive and friendly. The rooms at “Sporthotel am Semmering” are clean and well-maintained. We want to address some of the previous negative reviews we came across. They are from language camp participants who do not want to follow the rules of the camp, which they are familiar with even before it have started. It is clear to us that some of these negative comments were unjust and misleading. These reviews are simply a lie and no one should be misled by them. The hotel staff was always professional and polite. In conclusion we would highly recommend this hotel. We look forward to working with them in the future. Best regards, Welburg team
